Use Clear slitted row covers with black plastic mulch for potentially earlier harvests and greater crop market value. Daytime temperatures are elevated an average of 10 to 30°F. for better crop growth. The slits remain open during the day, providing ventilation in extreme heat, and they close at night, helping to retain heat and providing 1 to 4°F frost protection. Row covers also reduce wind damage to young plants. Harvest crops up to two weeks earlier than normal! The use of the #5042 Wire Tunnel Supports is recommended.
