Dupont AG06 (0.6 oz./sq, yd.) Floating Polyester Row Covers - Heavy Duty, Long-Lasting Point-Bonded Type (Reemay Replacement)

It was not easy replacing the well-known Reemay 0.6 row cover material, however we believe the Dupont AG06 is better in many ways. The construction of the Dupont AG06 is point-bonded (fibers are securely heat-sealed together at many points throughout the fabric). (Reemay was spun-bonded). Although the unit weight of the Dupont material and Reemay are equal (0.6 oz. / sq. yd.), we note the following advantages:

AG06 is softer and less abrasive against plant material
AG06 U. V. resistance is improved (longer lasting)
AG06 is much stronger in both tensile and tear tests
AG06 heat retention is better, thus the microenvironment will be warmer

Dupont AG06 row covers transmit approx. 68% of available light, and it is about 9 mils thick. For this type of row cover, nighttime temperatures may be 3-4°F.greater than the outdoor temperature, and daytime temperatures may be up to 10°F. greater than the outdoor temperature.
