Leucanthemum used to fall under the genus Chrysanthemum, and has recently been changed to its own genus. Also known as Shasta Daisy, Leucanthemum is very popular because the cultivars produced come closest to what we know as the common daisy. Bright white daisy flowers are produced on upright plants, for an eye catching effect in the perennial garden. Many varieties are tall enough to be used for cut flower production, and there are also a few semi-double varieties that add additional interest to this genus.
