A hybrid version of Detroit Dark Red Short Top, Red Ace resists zoning and bolting in the heat, and has intermediate resistance to cercospora leaf spot. Red Ace offers the fine eating quality of Detroit Dark Red, plus uniformity from emergence to harvest, and a 7 to 10 day shorter maturity. Smooth, deep-round roots have short, erect, bright green tops that add eye-appeal for supermarket or farm market sales.
