AAS Winner
Slightly later to flower, more dense and mounded plant habit. Considered a hedgiflora petunia, this series is an aggressive grower, forming a shrub-like shape that holds all summer long. It exhibits high Botrytis tolerance, recovers quickly after rain, and resists lodging. All four colors are excellent for landscape use and large containers, where the masses of 2" blooms cover the vigorous growing plants. When spaced 12" apart, plants make a dense mounded hedge. When spaced 24" or more apart, plants spread like a ground cover up to 4'.

Color: Silvery white to pale lavender flowers

Tidal wave petunias

"Beautiful robust flowers that look just like the picture. They spread at least 4 - 5 feet or will climb if they have support. This color has the most vigorous growth."

DARLENE M. (5/5)

All plants have done well.

"All plants have done well. Thanks"

Carol H. (5/5)

Best petunia

"I have tried Cherry, Silver, and Red Velour here in the Texas Gulf coast area (9b). All three grew well but Silver was the best. All of them need to be cut back a bit in the summer heat but come right back. The big surprise happened this past winter. The Silver completely survived and seemed to thrive through two short hard frosts (<20 degrees, 3 days for the first, 2 days for the 2nd). The Cherry had only minor damage. Both were completely uncovered since I expected them to die back. Amazing plant. One note: the previous year I only had Red Velour and Silver. It was a much harder winter and Both died to the ground. Both came back from the roots but only Silver made it through the summer."

Petunia Tidal Wave Silver F1 Seed

"I practiced for spring with 6 starter cells, one seed per cell, and 4 plants grew gorgeous and hardy. Good average for an inexperienced gardener! Thanks!"

Sharon P. (5/5)

Best petunia for the Dallas summer heat.

"The tidal wave petunias have done better in the Dallas heat than any other type. Velour red did well but deteriorated starting mid July. Silver is still doing well in mid August. Both were planted in similar areas in April. Be sure to use a low dose seedling fertilizer from early on. I started two weeks after germination."

RALPH S. (5/5)

Beautiful

"Beautiful and rigorous variety!"

Yoshita A. (4/5)

Good seeds

"Good seeds"

Peter H. (5/5)

Good germination.

"Had about 90% germination rate this past year. I'm not a commercial grower so happy with that! Plants grow very large and trail nicely."

DAVE R. (5/5)

Poor germination

"This variety is beautiful but I only got 30% germination. That was a little disappointing."

CARLA M. (3/5)

Tidal Wave Petunia Silver F1

"The first of the Tidal Waves that we grown for several years. (How the years have flown by.) TW Silver still sets the standard for vigorously spreading petunias."
