St. Croix is an American variety producing a sweet bluish-red table grape that is also great for red wine. Be sure not to pick it before it is fully ripe, or you will miss out on its full flavor- watch for fruit to turn a darker color. It makes an aromatic medium to full-bodied, dry, deep red wine with currant and other dried fruit flavors. St. Croix grape vine suffers little or no winter injury, and exhibits vigorous growth and good resistance to Powdery Mildew and black rot. Space plants 8'apart. Semi-trailing growth habit. Self-pollinating. Early -mid season harvest: late August to mid-September. Hardiness zones 3-8.
