The great thing about Issai is that it is fuzzless and sweeter than the fuzzy kiwis! Plus, it is a self-pollinating kiwi plant. You only need one plant to produce fruit, or you may plant it with other females and harvest even more fruit. This mini-Kiwi has a restrained habit and sets the most delicious miniature fruit ever tasted. In the garden or in containers, you will find it easy to grow and rewarding. Plant 8' apart. Grows on grape-like vines reaching 20 to 25' (12' in containers), and needs a wall or trellis for support. It can bear fruit the first year after planting. Prune as needed in late fall or early winter, or leave it be -- this Japanese cultivar is very adaptable. Self-pollinating. Harvest mid-late September. Hardiness zones 4-8.
We require a $175 minimum order of DeGroot products per ship date. Orders not meeting the minimum will be charged a $25 processing fee.
