Helleborus Rosemary

Helleborus Rosemary

When the winter blues hit you, people can't wait for the sure sign of spring-Hellebores! ROSEMARY is a first year flowering Lenten Rose from tissue culture from the hybridizer that brought you the popular IVORY PRINCE. The bright and cheerful rose pink color of these flowers make other pinks look dull in comparison, and flowers face outward rather than downward to really display the fresh color. Mature flowers are a darker pink color. Lighter pink veining and darker pink speckling give the surface of the petal some character. As a hybrid between H. niger and H. hybridus, ROSEMARY displays incredible vigor and flower performance. Unlike the seed strains, you can expect 85-100% blooming year one after vernalization. Hellebores are the harbingers of spring, blooming for six weeks or more beginning in late winter. They are often flowering during the Christian season of Lent, from which they get their common name, Lenten Rose. This is the perfect plant for naturalizing in moist, woodland areas where its extensive root system will spread as far as it is allowed.
