An improvement over ‘Patty’s Plum’, this selection is more compact in habit and has longer lasting flowers. This “best in class” poppy is in the same color range as 'Patty's Plum', producing rich plum pink, non-fading flowers on strong stems in early summer. In some climates, it may rebloom in late summer. Attractive seed heads also appear in late summer. They make an interesting addition to dried flower bouquets. In the center of a poppy's flower rests a very large, velvety-black seed capsule surrounded by prominent, dark purple stamens. Altogether, these flowers absolutely steal the show when they are in bloom. After the bloom cycle is completed however, these perennials will go dormant, so plan on planting other plants nearby to fill in the gaps.
