Hybrid Hot Peppers

Hybrid varieties are the result of a genetic cross between two parent lines of the same species. By example, a hybrid pepper variety is the result of a cross pollination between two types of peppers; one being the female inbred and the other being the male inbred. 'F1' after the variety name denotes a hybrid. An open-pollinated variety is the result of natural pollination among plants of the same variety. Seed from an open pollinated pepper will produce itself in-kind.

  OUR COMPANY

The Harris Seeds company began its catalog operation in 1879. It evolved from the efforts of Joseph Harris who became extremely successful in the selection of superior strains of vegetables and grains. The company became wildly popular because of his basic business philosophy - "Offer my customers a quality product at a fair price and they will return."
