Rather slow growing and extremely slow to bolt, this is the best smooth leaf hybrid we know. The large, deep green leaves are durable for spring and summer harvest and wash easily. Intermediate resistance to DM (races 1, 2 and 3) but susceptible to blight, Olympia is used for bunching in high plant populations.

Spinach Olympia

"Enjoying spinach this winter in the greenhouse. Sprouted well."

GWEN N. (5/5)

Amazingly delicious cultivar!

"Fantastic cultivar! It produces huge, thick leaves, which make the most delicious strawberry spinach salad. This is the best-tasting spinach I have ever had. Before growing this, I would have said Bloomsdale, but this one was even better. I planted it in early February, and then we had a really cold snap. It pulled through OK, but I may be planting it after Valentine's Day just to be safe in the future. Also, I need to figure out how to get better germination on spinach, which is notorious for having poor germination. (Southeastern US 8a)"
