Vera Lavender

"I winter-sowed these by the 'milk jug' method, last year. Good germination, grew and bloomed well throughout last summer. They wintered-over well, I cut them way back in the spring, to avoid bare, woody growth which people advised me to do. They grew back strong this summer, and now both the bees and myself are enjoying the show. I am cutting many lavender blooms to dry for sachets."

First year success

"Started these in my greenhouse and then put out to garden and they grew quite nicely. I'm betting they will be even bigger next year"

"Harris Seed delivered on their seed and the ability to germinate the seed. I had about 90% germination which in my book is good! Thanks Harris Seeds!"

Q&A

What zone?
Hi Sandy, Lavender Vera is hardy to zones 5-10.
Can these lavender seeds be planted in the ground in part shade?
Hi Kelly, Ideally the lavender seeds should be sown indoors in trays or pots to get them started. Once grown, they prefer full sun, but can handle small amounts of shade. However they would not provide as many blooms, and they could look stretched.
