Quality Elite

Kate is a high yielding, 77 day bicolor with standout eating quality. Ears are 7 1⁄2” with 16-18 kernel rows of tender, glossy, refined kernels with excellent cover. Strong plants hold ears at 24” and offer high resistance to Rust (Rp1-G). Kate’s outstanding traits earned it a place in the Quality Elite series. Note: Kate has a tendency for oval tips in some stressful environments. This has not been a concern for roadside growers.

Kate corn

"It is just now getting ready to harvest and it looks awesome!!! Now if I can just keep the raccoons out of it we will have a good crop! This Kate corn is by far the sweetest sweet corn I have ever tasted!!! I highly recommend it!!! My wife has already canned 101 quarts of your Lewis green beans and they are the best green beans that I have ever tasted!!!! I swore that I would never eat any green beans other than tenderette green beans but these Lewis green beans beat the Tenderette green beans hands down!!! I hope that you will always have the Kate corn and the Lewis green bean seeds available!!!!"

Beautiful and Delicious Corn

"I bought these seeds because we share a name but I have never had such success with corn before. I used Olla pots for watering this year and I'm sure that helped, but I genuinely feel like a borderline successful gardener. So many people in the community garden talked about how well my corn was doing and were so happy to see the bees in the tops of the corn, loaded with pollen. I cannot rave enough about this plant."

Kate corn

"I should have planted it earlier. It is still ripening and I’m going to lose some ears due to immaturity. The growing time is listed too short on the package as it definitely took longer to ripen! But I cannot complain. It is by far the sweetest corn I have ever grown and every person I share it with says the same thing!"

Kathy M. (5/5)

Our favorite

"Very good flavor and tenderness, whether picked a bit young, or fully mature. Holds well refrigerated for several days without loss of quality. Plant successively, you’ll want this all summer into a warm fall."

Q&A

How many pounds would 2,000 seeds of the kate corn be? We usually plant 2 lbs and are having a hard time figure up how many seeds we need to purchase. Thanks.
Our current lot of Kate contains about 4,300 seeds per pound, if that helps.
