Where space is a premium and Powdery Mildew is a concern, this Harris release will excel. Magic Lantern’s classic, upright, 16 to 24 lb. fruit are produced on space-saving semi-vine plants. Fruit average 12" wide x 14" high and have an attractive dark orange color with medium ribs. Growers note good crown set on Magic Lantern’s vines, as well as higher yield per acre from closer planting. The first variety with intermediate resistance to Powdery Mildew.

Q&A

Are these pumpkins heirloom? Can I collect the seeds from my pumpkins and grow them again the following year?
Hi Julia, Magic Lantern is a hybrid and not considered heirloom. Although you may collect the seeds and grow them next year, please be aware that the plant characteristics could potentially be different than what you enjoyed the first season. These characteristics may include the following: plant habit, plant vigor, yield, uniformity of plants, fruit quality and appearance. If you are looking for the same qualities you had the first season, we highly recommend purchasing new seed each season. The vendors we work with adhere to many checks and balances helping to provide the highest quality seed and very specific characteristics that customers expect, such as high quality germination, purity and disease-free seed.
