Radicchio Seeds

Radicchio seeds are hardy crops that thrive in cold weather. They have a high market value due to the specialized, labor-intensive cultivation that may involve blanching and forcing, depending on the variety. Due to its appearance and vibrant color, radicchio is often mistaken for red cabbage. However, unlike red cabbage, which has firm, uniform purple leaves, radicchio offers unforgettably tender, crisp leaves with white veins. Radicchio delivers a bittersweet taste and is rich in vitamins K, E, copper and antioxidants.

Radicchio Seeds

Harris Seeds offers a selection of different radicchio varieties, including the hybrid types Leonardo F1 and Fiero F1. Leonardo F1 radicchio seeds are from the Chioggia variety, with round and dense bright purple heads. They're slow to bolt, making them ideal for fall and winter harvests. Fiero F1 seeds are from the Trevisio variety, known for their upright and elongated shape, burgundy interiors and white-veined ribs. They mature early and are suitable for all cropping seasons.
