One of the highest quality squashes sold in the Northeast. Extra rich and sweet in flavor, the deep orange flesh is firm and smooth. The blocky 6 to 8" wide x 3-1/2 to 4" long dark green fruit have a small gray button at the blossom end and grow on a full vine. This Burgess strain is the best Buttercup to grow for long-term storage and repeat sales.

Not for container gardening

"I used 5 gallon container pots this year for my garden. The Burgess Buttercup was prolific but did not produce any squash. I had a few small butternut squash and zucchini but squashes did not do well in containers."

Rewarding Squash Experience!

"I love Burgess Buttercup Squash! The flavor is chestnut like and the texture is buttery and smooth. I’ve grown this variety for two years now. I was able to harvest twice from the same plant, in Summer and fall. I had 11 squashes first year and 8 the second from one single plant. The fruits come in size 7”-9.5”. When the weather gets too hot and too sunny, I shade the fruit to prevent burns. It worked well. This is a very delicious variety. I highly recommend it."
