This hybrid series of trailing vinca brings more to the grower's
bench than the standard open pollinated types. Hybrid vigor translates to large flowers and thick glossy foliage. Plants are so well-branched they start to spread early on, creating a mounded, trailing habit, and producing large flowers with overlapping petals. Like its upright cousin Cora, the Cora Cascade's also exhibit a high tolerance to aerial Phytopthera.

"First time trying to grow in the house pre-season. I thought the window light might be enough but Michigan does not have that many days of sun so I put in a fluorescent grow light about 3 weeks ago and there's been a huge growth spurt. Both varieties of dahlias are 8 in or higher and the vincas are about 3 in tall. Nothing is showing any flowering action but germination was nearly 100%."

- Can you provide more Specific germination guidelines with regards to darkness being required?
- Hi Sally, Some seeds require light to germinate while others require darkness to germinate. Seeds that require dark to germinate, like the vinca, SHOULD be lightly covered with either soil or vermiculite. Seed that require light to germinate SHOULD NOT be covered with soil or vermiculite and should be sown on the surface of your pre-moistened soil mixture.
