This high quality pole bean is a cross between Kentucky Wonder and Blue Lake, combining the best of both parents. Kentucky Blue Pole beans produce large, straight, round 6 to 7" pods of excellent quality on 6 to 8' vines. This vigorous grower is an improvement over standard pole varieties and is ready for harvest one week earlier.

Great pole bean producer

"Good germination, climb poles very well, heavy producer from first to last picking, nice long tender beans, limited foliage is nice, when they’re done, it’s like a light switch. We pick about 5-6 weeks every 4 days. Quality product"

Q&A

do theese beans keep produceing all year or do they produce only one time
Hello! Thank you for reaching out. Kentucky Blue Pole is a variety that will continue to produce until first frost as long as it is picked regularly. Great variety!

Hi Dennis, We are looking into offering back-in-stock notifications in the future. In the meantime, we have updated the expected available date for this item - Week of December 5th. Please check back around that time. Thanks so much.
Is the Kentucky Blue pole bean stringless?
Hi Cliff, Thank you for contacting us. Kentucky Blue pole bean is an AAS winner and is considered to be a "stringless" variety. It's a very productive variety and produces high quality pods that typically ripen a week earlier than other pole varieties.
I have seed leftover from the 2021 gardening season. What is the estimated germination % for 2022?
Hi Caroline, Seed can be used over multiple years if it is stored properly. The expected longevity of the seed depends on the seed type and treatment. For large seed (corn, beans, peas) germination tends to hold steady for about 3 years, while smaller seed types can be longer. After a few years of storage you may begin to see a decline in germination and seedling vigor. To store seeds properly, put the seeds in a plastic or metal container along with a silica gel pack to help absorb any moisture. Store the container in a cool, dry area of your home. Do not store in a refrigerator, due to the high moisture environment they create.
