Great bean seeds

"I trust Harris Seeds to offer seeds that produce in my central NY State garden. Although I have not planted these seeds yet because of the cold weather, I anticipate that they will be as good as last year’s supply. However, I am distressed at the small amount of seeds in the package. I will have to go to one of our stores to buy some more to supplement these."

Great bush green bean

"The name exemplifies this great green bean. It taste great, sets lots of beans, tolerates extreme weather conditions and is the only green bean we have planted for many years!"

I Stick With Provider Beans

"I've been gardening since 1970 and I stick with Provider Bean Seed. I am in Zone 4 and Provider seeds come up strong from in soil planting and do well with a second planting in August. Provider beans are very easy to see and pick, plants always have numerous flowers and the beans freeze well for winter use. There was a drought this season but the weather did not affect the Provider yield. Flavor: "Delish!""

Not very good this go

"Not very good this go around. Yield was not as good as usual. Bugs were around earlier than usual. That also played in a big part why they did not so well. So I still ordered more. My Husbands favorite green beans"

MARGARET R. (3/5)

Family and friends favorites mine too

"I grew provider beans last year. Gave some to friends and family and every one of them came back and asked me what kind of beans was those. They were great. Best beans I ever had. I told a provider and everybody's grown on them or trying to get them from me LOL. Turned out great! Great seed, great company. Great beans"

"I just planted my provider seeds. I have grown this variety for years. It produces a plentiful crop and the beans freeze well so I have them through the winter."

Q&A

Need more info: disease resistance? productivity (all at once or extended harvest?) number of seeds/ ft row? You're making me look at other catalogues....
Hi Val, Our product description for Provider states that it has concentrated early harvests. We offer reference charts for many of our vegetables. On the main bean page (https://www.harrisseeds.com/collections/bean) there is growing information as well as a link to the bean chart (https://cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/1537/5553/files/ChartBeans.pdf?45220) . The chart lists all our bean varieties and their relative days, pod color, length, seed color, disease info, uses, sieve size and average seeds per pound. We do not suggest number of seeds per ft row – that depends on what spacing you choose to use. Thanks for your inquiry!
