Benning's Green Tint is an heirloom Patty Pan type squash. Its vigorous, bushy plant produces good yields of pale green squash that have scalloped edges. For best color and quality, harvest the fruit when they are 2 to 3" in diameter. The small fruit have an excellent flavor, tender skin and firm texture at this size. If left to mature longer, the fruit turn creamy white and develop a firmer skin texture.

Productive mostly

"I have two plants currently. One is going in a container, wall the second one is growing in a raised bed Thats 3.5 feet tall. Filled with compost and commercial raised bed soil. Strangely, the one that’s growing in the small container, is cranking out squash daily, while the plant that’s growing in the raised bed is growing very slowly and after a couple of months is jus now producing a single squash. The productive plant is battling powdery mildew, while the unproductive plant, although small for its time in the garden, looks very healthy. What gives? Otherwise happy with the purchase."
