From Rutgers University and Van Drunen Farms comes a vigorous sweet basil with high resistance to Downy Mildew. Well suited for potted plant and field production, plants have a high leafto- stem ratio, larger slightly cupped leaves, and are very slow to bolt.

THE G. (5/5)

They are still growing, but

"They are still growing, but look and smell great. We're looking forward to tasting them."

Murray F. (5/5)

Just okay!

"While the seeds germinated very quickly, after months of growth, they only just really peaked, and still are not as large as other varieties that I've grown. They absolutely do not get the downy mildew which is my reason for purchasing them. I was first introduced to Rutgers DMR basil varities by my daughter-in-law, who worked at Rutgers Gardens in New Jersey. These, unfortunately are not as flavorful, as the other varitities I've grown, such as Thunderstruck, Obsession, and Devotion. These varieties gave the most tender, large, flavorful leaves. Being Italian, flavor means everything. While I am not thoroughly disappointed, I am not blown away either."

Go to basil seed

"I bought the downy mildew resistant basil seeds after 1 year crop was destroyed by mildew. Summer of 2021 with the basil records seed was my largest basil crop I've ever had. This year summer 2022 I grew three different varieties of Basil and the basil Rutgers passion DMR seed yielded the most. Next year I will only use this variety of seed excellent thank you."

Paul S. (5/5)

Harvested basil 4 times so

"Harvested basil 4 times so far this season. Excellent taste and no Downey Mildew despite heavy rains last month."

Keith H. (5/5)

So far so good

"Disease free so far, already harvested a good amount, tastes great!"
