"I am new to growing sunflowers, so this was a great way to try it out. You can a ton of seeds (way more than you could plant in the 12 egg compartments). I had a heating mat and grow lights, and all seeds germinated within a couple days. I transplanted all of them into biodegradable little pots after a few weeks, and then planted those into the ground in mid-May and they are all a few feet tall now. They are doing much better than some other sunflowers that I planted by seed directly into the ground in mid-May. Really great way to get familiar with growing sunflowers, and totally disproved my theory that sunflowers couldn't be transplanted. Worked great and also was fun."
