Failure to germinate
"Planted them when it was really hot here. June 27. Watered 1 or 2 x a day it dried out so quickly. Was surprised that almost none emerged. I thought they were cooked, baked from the heat? Or that maybe I'd neglected watering a day? Saw they were treated seeds, handled them with gloves and didn't pre-soak them. It has been harsh here with really high UV levels. Am discouraged. Have gotten some zuchini and tomatoes going, but they seemed slow and having to struggle too. . . I don't know if I'd blame the seeds or the weather? Maybe if I'd planted the beans a month earlier? I have had some good crops of bush beans here, other past years. It isn't like I don't know how to grow them."
