Iris mixes well with other perennials and provides excellent color and contrast to the perennial border. Exceptional hardiness, easy culture, long life, and durable, handsome foliage rank this perennial among the favorites. It performs well near streams, bogs, or in open meadows, and blooms between spring flowering and summer flowering perennials. Massed plantings or well-placed specimens can enhance almost any setting, and the foliage provides lasting beauty after it blooms.

Siberian iris is easily grown in slightly acidic soils in full sun to part shade. It is an adaptable to a wide range of soils, including boggy conditions, but will also tolerate a dry soil because its thick roots penetrate the soil deeply. It has no serious pest or disease problems, and is less susceptible to iris borer and soft rot than the tall bearded iris.

To plant bare root perennials, dig a hole large enough to encompass the roots without bending or circling. Set the plant in place so the crown (part of the plant where the root meets the stem) is about 1-2” below the soil surface. Cover with soil to the original soil surface and water thoroughly.

Supplied as #1 sized bare root. Tags are included with bare root perennials from DeGroot.
