A large indeterminate red beefsteak tomato with a disease package suited to both open field and protected culture, Contessa is a strong alternative to Bigdena. Contessa carries the Crimson gene, giving the slightly ribbed 10 oz. fruit a deep red color, good flavor, and high lycopene. High resistance to Al, F1, F2, F3, Vt, ToMV, and St, and intermediate resistance to TSWV, TYLCV, LB, TLM, and PM.
