Parthenocarpic. Strong, vigorous vines that spread 4-6’ produce good yields of dark green pickles with white spines. The cylindrical fruit are bitter free and perfect for pickling or eating fresh. Gherking is parthenocarpic/self-pollinating, making it ideal for greenhouse/high tunnel production. High resistance to Scab and CMV, and intermediate resistance to powdery and downy mildew.

"Best ever! What a heavy producer. Because the fruit was parthenocarpic, nearly every flower formed a fruit and there were very few misshapen ones. While it says it is a pickling cucumber, I thought the flavor was comparable to a lot of slicing cucumbers. I would often pack raw ones to snack on at lunch. I got some small snacking cucumbers from the store and they all went to the compost because I got so spoiled with this cultivar’s flavor and texture. I picked over 2 gallons from just a couple/few of vines. Now I just need a really good dill pickle recipe. It handled the heat and humidity really well too. No disease or pest issues. (Southeast, zone 8a)"
