Captain Jack is an extra-large pumpkin that has an upright, barrel shape and large well rooted handles. Vigorous, large vines produce good yields of dark orange fruit, with medium ribbing, that weigh between 35-45 lbs. The fruit are thick fleshed which helps to prevent flat sides and they stand well on their own.

Average Weight: 35-45 pounds

Happy Kids!

"Could not be happier with our seed purchase from Harris! Pumpkins grew great! Very big and a deep orange color! Happy customer that will definitely order again next year!"

I have been planting pumpkins

"I have been planting pumpkins as a hobby to do with my young kids for 6 years. Every year the pumpkins would die too early to harvest or what was left were too small to carve or decorate. I was recommended the gladiators originally then added captain Jack to the mix. Both varieties came up with a high success rate and majority of the pumpkins will be used for carving this year. I bought decorative types off Amazon and 100% of those pumpkin plants died before producing any fruit. Next year all pumpkin seeds will come from Harris"

Captain Jack pumpkins

"I couldn't believe the huge handles I thought I planted the "Wolf" which has large handles too, but these are bigger! The people buying remarked about the handles and size. These pumpkins grew well and turned Orange quicker than others I grow."

You would have to be really unlucky to NOT grow Captain Jack Pumpkins.

"They are the BEST Pumpkins I have ever Grown. I have 16 acres of pumpkins. We bought 1,000 seeds and as far as I can tell they all came up but a very few. The turkeys got a few. I planted on May 16 these the 105-day growing window would allow me to pick by the Beginning of September. I have 16 acres of pumpkins. I did 10 acres last year."

This variety was part of

"This variety was part of a 10 variety trial . It is an extremely slow to mature variety. The pumpkin itself is good big size and color but I feel the maturity is misstated it is almost the slowest variet of all I tried"
