Raspberry Heritage

Raspberry Heritage

Heritage raspberries are widely planted, and favored for its fruit size, flavor and firmness. It was the first red raspberry bred to ripen in the fall with a firmness good enough for wholesale markets and with sufficient yields to be commercially viable. Heritage was awarded a 2004 Outstanding Fruit Cultivar Award by the American Society of Horticultural Sciences. It is a strong and productive plant that spreads fast. It is an excellent variety for the home gardener. If you desire a fall only crop, mow canes to ground level in autumn after fruiting. Resistant or tolerant to most major raspberry diseases. Height varies. Red. Continual harvest: moderate summer crop, then a heavy one August to frost. Ever bearing. Hardiness zones 4-10.
