The Cora vinca series from seed is derived from the same genetic background as the vegetative Nirvana series. Thus, in addition to possessing other positive traits that result from hybridization, Cora varieties also exhibit a high tolerance to aerial Phytopthera. The hybrid vigor produces a high rate of useable seedlings along with a uniform habit and tight bloom window across the series. Cora Red vincas have large, striking flowers with overlapping petals are held over glossy green foliage.

Q: I have red dirt here in Wiggins Mississippi, can I grow Vincas in this type of dirt?
A: Good morning Sylvia, Thank you for contacting us. Vinca is a great choice for growers looking for an easy, no-fuss plant. It is fairly low maintenance and can tolerate a wide range of growing conditions. If you are concerned about your soil, simply work some aged manure or compost into the top 1-3" of your soil before planting. Water the transplants in well as they establish themselves and then sit back and enjoy your flowering groundcover!
