This select strain of Blue Hubbard is the largest of the Hubbard type squash. Full vines yield blue-gray fruit that weigh 30-45 lbs. and have a classic Hubbard shape. The fruit can get up to 20-30" long and its flesh is of the highest quality, with a sweet, fine grained texture and an orange color.

The Blue Hubbard squash's rind is bumpy and blue-green, while the flesh is deep orange with a sweet nutty taste. You can store the squash in your pantry for up to six months post-harvest — our Squash Blue Hubbard will remain fresh and rich with flavor.

Blue Hubbard is known for its nutritional benefits, including excellent anti-inflammatory properties. It's also rich in Vitamins A and C, helping support a healthy immune system. This variety matures in around 100 days and offers the convenience of direct sowing after any danger of frost. Plant in full sun and moist soil in a spacious plot or along a fence line, where it has plenty of room for its vining growth habit.

Excellent germination

"Planted indoors on heating pad. 100% germination! Planted outside May 3rd. It’s June 3rd and the daily high temp has not broken 60 degrees F…. Hubards are sad, pray for sun ☀️"

"Started in pots and planted at edge of field. They didn’t make it. Will direct seed next year"

A Showoff Squash!

"I love NEW ENGLAND Blue Hubbard Squash! Try and find these seeds anywhere else! Not impossible but not so easy either! I grew three, 35 lb. B. H. last year and love to chop them up into the chunks like you see in the Supermarkets the two weeks before Thanksgiving! They are a great "Keeper" and give you fresh vegetables for your December Holiday Tables! Serious bragging rights! Learn from my mistakes, though. Do whatever you need to do to deter squash vine borers!"
