This variety grows in a small, uniform shape, making it ideal for roadside stands and farmers market displays. As a high-yielding squash that matures earlier than Honeynut, Butterbaby Butternut Squash is a must-have for fresh market farmers and hobby gardeners.

Shop Butterbaby seeds from Harris Seeds to start growing your own mini butternuts with tan skin and sweet, dark orange flesh. High yields of ½ - 1 lb. fruits are produced on vines with powdery mildew resistance. Butterbaby fruits measure 6” L x 4” W, have a Brix measurement of 9-11, and offer better storability than other mini butternuts. Excellent variety

"These mini Squash are the perfect side dish to split between two people. I sliced open, gutted and removed seeds. You can bake upside down to keep moist, then flip. Add brown sugar and butter for the last ten minutes. Cook until tender. Fork goes in easy. These are so delicious"

I direct seeded in March

"I direct seeded in March 3 plants but none germinated. I then seeded indoors and they appeared to have done fine however I am a few weeks behind. I will transplant this week. The original were planed in an area I have grown another variety a few years back so I am not sure what happened. I will see how the transplants work but I prefer to direct seed squash since they don't like to be disturbed."
