Inferno has some of the best eating quality you'll find in an early mid-season, yellow synergistic. Its 7.5-8" ears are produced on 5.75' plants that set their ears at 20". Dark green husks and plentiful flags offer excellent cover to the ears that have 14-18 rows of sweet and tender kernels. Intermediate resistance to rust (Rp1-d) and Stewart's wilt.

Dissapointed

"Very few of the 250 seeds planted actually grew. Hopefully it was the weather and not just the seed."

GRALIN B. (3/5)

Fantastic flavor

"I live in the Seattle, WA area. I start it indoors for an earlier harvest. Flavor is fantastic. It is the only one I plant."

Inferno

"Planted 1/2 acre Inferno as 1 of 3 early-mid varieties to compare. The others were Illusion and 1001. Inferno is by far the best eating quality, very sweet, good flavor and moderately tender. Germanation was average, the stalks about 5.5 feet tall and tended to blow down in a windstorm. Many stalks produced 2 ears, however, the second ear was not good enough to sell."

Q&A

I planted some of the corn why is the corn like a red clr??and they are not growing fast..my landlord planted there corn and there corn is way bigger than mine is..I did plant it in potting soil...So is it not good to plant in soil??? Should u plant corn in Durt or the best potting soil ??????Let me know..
Hi Fonz, Corn is best planted in the ground in nitrogen rich soils. Corn will not produce or perform well when planted in pots. Sweet corn is also a crop that needs substantial amounts of water to produce well. A change in kernel color could indicate anything from a nutrient deficiency, fungal pathogen, or lack of hydration. Your best bet is to send pictures to your local extension office and see if they help identify the issue. Best of luck!
