If Tomato Spotted Wilt Virus plagues your area, then Amelia VR is the variety for you. Bred primarily for the Southeastern US, Amelia VR produces large to extra-large fruit on vigorous, determinate vines. High yields of firm, uniform red fruit that have good crack tolerance have been noted in plantings of Amelia VR in the Southeastern US. It is well adapted to stake culture, and field testing shows it performs best under moderate to heavy pruning. Its disease package includes resistance to Fusarium wilt (races 1, 2 and 3).

Perfect for NC Raleigh Area

"Germination rate was 95%. Just make sure temp is between 70-80 degrees. Also if possible put seedlings in full sunlight to minimize spindling. I have planted Amelia the past 4 years. Always produce plentiful large delicious tomatoes. Very few problems with wilt."

Amelia tomatos

"This is the first time I have planted this tomato. So far, this is one of the best and most prolific tomato I have ever planted. I only planted two plants because I had never heard of this variety of tomato. If it continues to proceed as it has thus far, I may only plant this and Better Boy next year. (Lord willing, I'll live that long! I live in New Orleans and it does get pretty warm here. Hoping they are as disease resistant as they claim to be."
