Q&A

Does anyone know the LOW temp for germination to occur?
Hello Paul, Thank you for contacting us. Cilantro is a cool season crop that germinates at temperatures between 50-85 degrees F. Optimal temperature for germination is around 65 degrees F. Santo is a fast growing, slow to bolt variety with broad leaves that does best when direct sown. If allowed to flower, cilantro is a great source of pollen for beneficial insects. Please let us know if you have any other questions.

Hi: If you are familiar with AeroGarden indoor hydroponics, could you tell me if your Cilantro, or Cherry Tomato seeds would do well using that growing method. I would not intend to replant outdoors. Thank you...Barbara
Hi Barbara, Cilantro will work very well in an indoor hydroponic set-up. To be successful with a cherry tomato you will need to pick the right variety to suit your system. Most cherry tomatoes are large indeterminate plants, so for those types you will need a larger system with a large water basin and adequate plant support and light. If your hydroponic system is smaller, it is best to choose a variety like Sweet N’ Neat Scarlet, Lizzano, or Terenzo which are compact determinate varieties good for containers and small space or indoor growing.
