Great short season sweet corn

"My mom (who lives in the Eastern Upper Peninsula of Michigan) had a bad run of other seed, so I ordered Chorus and planted it very late June 28 (!). Despite the late planting she harvested multiple ears in mid September (65 days) - so many she donated sixty ears to the local food pantry (off of maybe 6 short rows) and froze multiple quarts for the winter. A few notes: soils were very sandy but well manured; I put a few inches of hay mulch on the garden and planted through that with approximately 2/3 seeds every 18”. Thanks Harris Seeds for a great product!"

Sweet Chorus F1

"I ordered this seed a little late, so I was concerned that it would mature before the 1st frost. This seed germinated great (100%) matured a week early, and was delicious. Sadly the wildlife enjoyed much of it also. the corn they left was delicious"

Q&A

What does the soil or air temperature need to be to plant the Sweet Chorus corn?
Good morning Bill, thank you for contacting us. Sweet Chorus is a 67 day bicolor sweet corn. This variety is one of the best early germinating and strongest growing early bicolors. It has shown good cold soil tolerance and should be used for early plantings. Most sweet corn prefers a warm soil temperature to germinate. Corn that shows good cold tolerance can typically be planted even earlier when soil temps are around 60-65 degrees. Below this temperature the corn may not germinate properly or may be damaged by cooler temps. Some seed lots should not be planted early and are labelled as such with a neon pink sticker advising our customers to wait till soil temps are above 65 degrees. Weather can change drastically season to season. Base your seeding date on the average soil temps in your region.
