The Safari series make a superb show in packs, pots and garden displays. Their extra-large blooms on compact plants make a bold statement as the flattened large lower petals work their way up to ruffled centers.

My favorite red marigold!

"Safari Red did wonderfully in my garden! Like many marigolds, it remains healthy and continues to bloom all season with deadheading (which isn't difficult given the size of the blooms). The reason I rate this particular marigold so high is because the flowers seems to retain their deep red color longer than other red varieties before fading to orange. Even when the flowers do fade, they remain beautiful much longer than other varieties. They put on a great display all summer. The under side of petals are yellow, which adds a lovely contrast while the flowers our opening. I will definitely grow this one again and again."
