"We are conducting a variety trial with six varieties on a trellis system in a greenhouse in Florida. These growing conditions are very different than what you may be experiencing, so take this review with a grain of salt. We had a low germination rate for Mellow Yellow as compared to the other varieties tested (roughly 50% germination), but we also struggled with very hot temperatures when we were germinating these seeds which could have been the issue. This is a vine with good vigor and nice foliage. It's the team favorite of our variety trial. As another reviewer noted, the pumpkins are a little smaller than advertised but have strong green stems that are firmly attached. The pumpkins expand quickly and then put on color very slowly, even more slowly than our orange pumpkin varieties, so keep that in mind when timing."

"With 2 seasons experience, I note that they grow a little smaller than advertised, but while the total yield is on the low side, almost all of the pumpkins were perfect. Customers look at them, but don't buy many, so my suggestion is to grow a few to keep your sales area interesting, but not too many."
