Q&A

Looking for purple basil. Or purple ruffle basil
Hi Claire, Please see Purple Ruffles Basil here: https://www.harrisseeds.com/products/01933-basil-purple-ruffles Thanks for reaching out!
When is the best time to plant this mix? And at what density pre acre?
Hi David, Thanks for contacting us. The Wildflower Northeast Mix is a beautiful mix guaranteed to attract pollinators to your garden. We typically seed the Wildflower Mix in the early spring after the danger of frost has passed. This mix contains both perennial and annual flowers in a wide range of colors and will bloom throughout the summer. The minimum planting rates are generally based on 60-70 seeds per square foot (4 to 12 pounds per acre), which is usually sufficient to establish a good stand of wildflowers on prepared soil when adequate weed control can be maintained. Maximum planting rates are based on 120-140 seeds per square foot (8 to 24 pounds per acre), and are recommended when adequate soil preparation and weed control are not possible, or when maximum color is required.
What are the sun/shade requirements and soil requirements for this mix?
Hi Shannon, Full sun is best, although partial shade may be acceptable. Most soil types will work.
