65 days from transplant. From seed to fruit, Pumpkins on a Stick have many ornamental features. This variety of eggplant is well-branched and upright, making it suitable for open fields and protected culture in addition to container gardening, raised beds, greenhouses or as a focal point in the garden. Plant your Pumpkin Sticks seeds in the spring, grow your seedlings over the summer like other eggplants and harvest the crop in the fall.

The plant looks like a typical eggplant, thorns and all, with a 16 - 20” spread until the stems and fruit start to form. Then the 12 - 16” stems produce 6 - 8 pumpkin-like fruits that ripen from green to red to burnt orange 65 days after transplant. When growing, pumpkin eggplant features large foliage and signature miniature faux pumpkins that make unique fall decorations when dried.

Sell these ornamental eggplants by the stem or individually. Either fresh or dried, they add unique texture and detail to arrangements. These small orange fruits last for years when dried and even feature in many Asian dishes! Add Pumpkin on a Stick Plant seeds to your Harris Seeds cart to grow these versatile gems yourself.

Interesting looking plants

"Germination was very good and the seedlings are doing well. Plan to plant them outdoors this week- thorns and all! Will need to wear gloves, (can't believe how thorny & scary looking they are). Will have to wait to see how the tiny "pumpkins" develop."

Q&A

I need deer resistant flowers. Any suggestions. They have eaten everything that I have planted.
Hi Brenda! Deer don't like to eat anything that has a strong scent of any kind- even it it's nice! We recommend nicotiana, dianthus, allium, and lobelia.
