Pink Pentas

"Only 2 seeds germinated, one died so only one grew. Beautiful pink flowers."

Lucky star

"I didn't buy the seed from you all but I may possibly do so in the future. My experience with seed is I sprinkled Butterfly Weed seeds last year and the plants came up this year. So my advice to you all is in the spring don't weed your beds right away and see what comes back. My Tickseed plant spread it seeds on it own threw out the bed. I also had use "Preen" green on that same flower bed early spring which I think helped the whole process."

My favorite pant

"These are very nice looking plants and will bloom all season if deadheaded. Hummingbirds are also attracted to the flowers. High germination rate on these and although they are small when they sprout, they will eventually grow into a very nice looking plant."

Q&A

What is the best method to show pentas seeds? How deep in soil, moisture level, amount of direct sunlight, etc.. Thank you.
Good morning Matt, Thanks for contacting us. Pentas are a wonderful annual that like full sun. When starting Pentas from seed begin by pre-wetting your seed starting mix or soil. Pentas seeds need light to germinate and should not be buried. Press the seed into the surface of the soil and gently mist daily. We recommend you use a plastic dome over your trays to help maintain moisture levels during germination. Pentas seed typically germinates within 10-12 days (sometimes sooner). This seed germinates best when the soil is kept between 72-77 degrees. We recommend using a heat mat with a soil temperature probe in order to provide the correct conditions for this variety. I am including a link to the "Resources and Guides" section on our website. There is a lot of useful information that can be found here regarding both Ornamentals as well as Vegetables.
