- Is this particular light appropriate for starting tomatoes? The LED light that I currently have works well for germinating but when the tomatoes reach a certain height the leaves start to turn purple and I have to move them out from under the light. Eventually, they recover with more natural light. Thank you.
- Hello! Thank you for reaching out. This light will do a fantastic job of starting your tomatoes. Your seedlings turning purple will likely happen with any light at some point. It is an indication of burn or an inability to uptake enough potassium due to extreme temperatures - too hot or too cold. Artificial light sources should really only be used until seedlings set their true leaves. We hope this helps!
